1080 Metallising Wire

Drawn from 99.80 % aluminium coil, each of which arrives with its own chemical composition certificate. The diameter is gauged continuously during drawing rather than sampled afterwards, because a wire that runs thin for twenty metres will not show up in an end-of-batch check but will show up as a thin patch on the customer's film.

Supplied layer-wound and jointless on any spool in the programme. Jointless is the specification that matters on an automatic metalliser: a splice is where the run stops, and stopping a metalliser costs more than the spool.
